  • If you were dropped onto a mountain, how would you know if you were at the bottom, middle, or top?At the bottom of a mountain, there's plenty of water and warmth so you'll see lots of plants and animals. In the middle, there's less water and less heat so it s fewer plants, and therefore, fewer animals. The trees in the middle are usually shorter than trees at the bottom, because of the often windy conditions and cooler temperatures. The top is the coldest and driest. Here, you would see very few, if any, plants and animals.
